Getting a concert ticket in Singapore
If I am not wrong, Jamie Cullum (that's JC for some of ya) was supposed to have held his SG leg of the concert tour much earlier. Due to some technicality problems, it was postponed to June 15 2006.
Ha!! Now that gave me some leeway, as I previously had spent quite a sum of money for my Australian getaway holiday. I could now start saving up for a tix to Jamie's concert.
Now then, I was still dithering & dothering (in other words, being a slowcoach). Working in the CBD area (Central Business District) allows me to be at the centre of ticketing. What I meant is that it's easy for me to pop into town to get concert tix.
This time round, it was TicketCharge that sold tickets to Jamie Cullum concert. I called up the hotline ... & here I must comment that I was a little disappointed by the lady manning the hotline. She didn't seem to know where the nearest TicketCharge outlet was.
Hello gurl, Great World City is NOT (and I repeat, NOT) near the CBD area.
- You should have said "Centrepoint".
- You made me waste part of my precious lunch hour time, running around in circles.
- Please get your details right when giving information okay?
Anyway, I finally got my ticket. It seems that here, youth is no match for experienced staff (they still need a bit of polishing though).
Once again, I arrived at the Centrepoint information counter. This time round, I didn't bother to ask the "youngster" but just stared at him. I asked the senior staff, a lady, "Hello, can I get a ticket to the Jamie Cullum concert here please?"
"Yes", was her answer.
When it came to my turn, she asked me how many tickets & for what price range I would like. Told her & I finally got my ticket.
U know what? The way that TicketCharge hands over tickets is simpler than that of Sistic.
TicketCharge (when I bought just one ticket)
Just hands over the ticket to the buyer at the counter
Sistic (when I bought just one ticket)
Hands over the tix to the buyer at the counter, in a tix holder (sorta like putting a letter in an envelope)
Now, why this is so, I do not know. Go figure. I will write about my Jamie Cullum concert experience later.
